Fitting instructions
Thank you for purchasing the SmartSpeed66 RA TG Bullet rear indicator kit with Lambretta panel handles
Fitting is very straight forward, but will require drilling your rear light unit
First remove your panels from the RA
Carefully unbolt the original plastic indicators from the panel, you will not need any part of these, dispose of them
The handles are handed, with the bolt hole facing downward. Fit the handle with a Large washer first, then pass through the panel, then add the Nylon washer followed by another Large washer, complete with the 10mm nut, do not over tighten, only requires to be nipped up
Next remove your rear light assembly, this is held on by the two 8mm nuts (not the Larger 10mm or 13mm Nuts)
Thread the light unit and wires off the scooter.
The indicators are placed either side of the light unit, two holes will be required to be drilled with a 7mm drill bit (you can wiggle a 6mm if that is all you have, just to enlarge the hole a bit) . Please check the Photo for the correct position of these holes.
Then carefully thread the ready assembled wires and indicator through the holes, remember you need to pass the wires through the securing nut, tighten the securing nut (14mm thin spanner) if you do not have a spanner you can carefully twist the indicator light to tighten it up.
The bullet connectors will then just plug it to the existing wiring loom.
Please remember that the two indicators share an earth, and LED units are polarity sensitive, if an indicator unit does not flash, reverse the connectors on that unit, no damaged can be caused by connecting the units up incorrectly
At this point also check the correct indicator flashes IE, both front and rear left or right. If not just swap the yellow wires over
Finally fit the INDICATOR RELAY, this is not always required. Check your flash speed, and if you think it is too fast, then you will need to fit the relay.
The relay is housed under the headstock (speedo). To remove start with the 2x screws either side of the Chrome light trim, next under the headset locate the 2x philips screws, undo these.
Gently pull the top cover up from the rear and backwards at the same time. You will not have to disturb and any of the wires or fixings.
The relay is easy to replace and is plug and play
